About
Don Bosco Institute of Nochchiyagama was established in 2000, and it is located in the Diocese of Anuradhapura. This house is engaged with various activities for the betterment of the youngsters who are in the locality. This house mainly offers vocational training for the youth who are desperately looking for jobs and want themselves to be qualified. Moreover, this institute has got an English medium school, which is in its initial stage of progression. This house also has a variety of training courses such as English Academy, computer qualification and so on.
Furthermore, DB Nochchiyagama has got a parish which is dedicated to St. Sebastian. Through this parish, confreres are engaged in pastoral ministry to the Christian community as well as to the villages.

The society of St. Francis de Sales or Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), is a religious Congregation founded by St. John Bosco in 1859 in Turin, Italy for the purpose of helping, educating and training poor boys. To date, services of the Salesians have spread to 131 countries in the world. In Sri Lanka, the very first Don Bosco Centre was established in 1956 at Negombo. The Salesians of Don Bosco have, to date established 18 centres in different parts of the country.
