Dream that makes you dream was the key theme that was chosen for the Don Bosco Quiz Competition 2024 of the region of North. Five Salesian communities took part in the competition with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Don Bosco Community of Pallavarayankattu hosted the event on behalf of the Vice Province of Sri Lanka. It was well organized by Bro. Thavakumar and the four pre Novices under the Director of Fr. Melvin Roy, the Director of Don Bosco Institute, Pallavaryankattu. Bros. Roshan and Iruthayanathan also were there to support the organizing team of the day of the Quiz program. The communities were given the quiz booklets one month before and the date was fixed in the Province year plan and it was dated for 17th of March 2024. The communities took part in the competition were Don Bosco Aspirantate, Mankulam, Don Bosco Institute, Pallavarayankattu, Don Bosco Institute, Murunkan, Don Bosco Institute, Jaffna and Don Bosco Institute, Kilinochchi. The students were accompanied by the Salesians and the staff members of the respective communities.
The entire competition took a new shape with the creativity brought in by the community of Pre Novitiate. It was comprised of Quiz Bee, Mime competition, Singing competition and drawing competition. It was entertaining and in between there were party games to boost up the spirit of the students who took part in them. It was truly a Salesian way of conducting a program of this nature. Every event was evaluated and marks were given according to their performance. The prizes were given according to each category and over all winners were declared after putting together all the points secured in each competition.
The champions of Don Bosco Quiz 2024 of the North region was Don Bosco Aspirantate Mankulam, the runners up were Don Bosco Institute, Pallavarayankattu, the second runners up were Don Bosco Institute, Jaffna. The other participants also were given consolation prizes. The winners were given Medals, Certificates, trophies and valuable gifts.
A sincere word of thanks to Rev. Fr. Roshan, the Provincial, Fr. Paul Sajeewaka SDB (Vice Provincial) who was present for the occasion, who shared a beautiful message on Knowing Don and Loving Don Bosco, and Fr. Sagayaraj SDB (Provincial Economer) for supporting financially this program.
Hearty congratulations to the winners, organizers and participants of this program which displayed a big amount of unity, hard work, commitment, sacrifice and shared joy among the Salesians communities of North.
